I’m currently sitting next to my Mom, talking about silent but deadly farts, and working on my Chinese assignment on The National Palace museum in Taiwan. While researching I came across these gems:

  • The “Jadeite Cabbage” is a piece of jade carved into the shape of a cabbage head. A closer look reveals two grasshoppers camouflaged in the leaves. The ruffled semi-translucent leaves attached are due to the masterful combination of various natural colour of the jade to recreate the colour variations of a real cabbage.
  • The “Meat-shaped Stone”, a piece of jasper, a form of agate, the strata of which are cleverly used to create a likeness of a piece of pork cooked in soy sauce. The dyed and textured surface makes the layers of skin, lean meat, and fat materialized incredibly lifelike.
  • Am I the only one who finds these two artifacts hysterical?

Today was such a lovely day. The best friends & conversations!

But this post is really just for me to reveal seeecrets ehehe: Sofia went through a phase where she liked to hop down the two steps leading to her garage while flapping her arms like a bird – more specifically, a baby bird (which explains the relatively high positioning of wings). She also likes to loiter around other people’s driveways and breakdown about unsuccessful u-turns. Oh, and Emiri has explosive diarrhea. Okay I’m totally lying eheheh (don’t kill me). She was, however, ON TIME for pick-up today. Thats a first!

Currently feasting on THE most delicious strawberries courtesy of Saticoy Berry Farms. These little suckers were even packaged cutely in neat little rows aaaand to top it all off the packaging even provided me with a little nutrition fact: “100 calories of strawberries have 6 grams of dietary fiber”. Oh yessss I love me some roughage. The last time I had strawberries this delicious was when I still lived in Canada. I still remember that the berries were Driscoll’s strawberries of the long stemmed variety!

On another note, I applied for a job at Safeway today! I hope to bag your groceries in the near future. Would you like me to assign someone to butter your muffin? Mean Girls references neverrr get old.

Taking a break from studying SAT math! I’m wearing these hipster glasses because I’m pretty much the epitome of hipster. That white and green plant behind me reproduces by vegetative propagation. My garden in New Jersey featured a plethora of hostas that were, to my Mother’s dismay, often attacked by wild bunnies. I once spent a good hour …

Next on my list: slip on a banana peel.

Edit// My butt is fine! I actually thought this experience was hysterical because I never thought I would have my chair pulled out from under me! I thought it was something that only happened in movies and thus grouped it together with other “only happens in movie” things like slipping on a banana peel buuuut since I’ve experienced the former I am anticipating the latter hehehe!
